Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit, like your login status and preferences. Not all cookies are the same — some are essential for the website to function, while others are used for tracking and advertising.
2. Our Approach
Vekaro uses essential cookies only. We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or analytics. We believe you shouldn't need a law degree to understand a cookie policy, so here's exactly what we use:
3. Cookies We Use
- vekaro_session — Purpose: Keeps you logged in. Type: Essential. Duration: 7 days of inactivity. Details: This cookie contains a session token that identifies your login session. It is HttpOnly (cannot be accessed by JavaScript) and SameSite=Strict (only sent to our domain). Without this cookie, you would need to log in on every page.
4. Local Storage
We also use browser localStorage (which is technically not a cookie) to store:
- Theme preference — Whether you've chosen dark or light mode. This is stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers.
- Cookie consent — Whether you've dismissed the cookie banner. Stored as a simple flag.
5. Third-Party Cookies
We do not set any third-party cookies. We do not use:
- Google Analytics or any analytics service
- Facebook Pixel or any social media tracking
- Advertising networks or retargeting tools
- Any third-party scripts that set cookies
Vekaro is ad-free and always will be.
6. Analytics
We currently do not use any analytics cookies or scripts. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and notify you. Any future analytics would be privacy-respecting and cookieless where possible.
7. Managing Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored
- Delete specific cookies or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all websites
- Set preferences for first-party vs. third-party cookies
Note that blocking the vekaro_session cookie will prevent you from staying logged in to the Service.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this cookie policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
